OPI Blonde Date is a shimmery yellow gold

An oldie, but goodie. I haven't seen such a gorgeous gold since Essie Amalfi. After some googling, I found out that this is dupey to OPI Megawatt, which is still around. I am not sure, but now I want to try that one too. I am a big fan of shimmery golds, especially if they have an old-school feel, like this one.

The formula was great, and the brush stroke-y look was not as bad in real life. For some reason, it seems to be amplified in pictures. I have a little trick when I encounter sheer shimmers, such as this one. I apply the first coat and try to match that with something in my stash. Then, I apply a coat of a sheer color that would not change it too much. In this case, I used a Jelly (L'Oreal Bananarama Love), and then one last coat of the shimmer. It works wonders.
