Recent Empties: January Edition

So, it's 2014 and I hope you had as equally an indulgent Christmas and New Year's Eve as I did. Minus the time spent in bed with a nasty bug, I might add.
I rarely make goals when a new year rears its head, but this year I'm making an exception. It may be a notch on the dull side, but this year's mission is to trawl through the dusty depths of my bathroom cabinet/wash bag/make up bag and use up those unloved products once and for all. A kind of all-year-long 'Project 10 Pan' if you will.
I actually managed to start said goal at the back end of 2013 without even realising it, and so here's a load of empties I'd like to share with you. Hopefully you'll discover some new products to try amongst this lot. Or hey, why not join me and clear out that bathroom cabinet, too? After all, us beauty fiends are good at buying products but, it seems, not too great at actually using them.

The Body Shop's Rainforest Balance mini Shampoo and Conditioner

I purchased these as part of a mini set of three or four bottles (plus de-tangling comb) during one of The Body Shop's regular sales. They're for oily hair, but while my 'do is more on the dry side they weren't bad for the money (about £5, I think). Offering volume and shine, these little gems are also the perfect size for travelling. I could well pop these in my basket again.

Joules Sensational Skin Body Wash Soufflé *

Regular readers of ALTH will know I gave this a try before Christmas. It came as part of a trio of Joules skincare products gifted to me by the brand during the festive shopping period. Usually, I'm not one to use up these mammoth-sized pots so quickly, but let me tell you, this was lovely. And I've since been slathering it on at every showering opportunity.

Botanics' Purifying Face Scrub All Bright

I'm a big fan of these exfoliating scrubs and I've long been keen on Botanics. I tend to use products like this only every so often; my oily, blemish-prone skin isn't always ready for such a harsh scrub. But when I do break this out I love it. It's not at all aggravating to the skin and has a lovely light scent.

Dr Bronner's 18-in-1 Rose Pure Castille Soap

These Dr Bronner 18-in-1 soaps are great; you really can use them for just about anything. I love this rose scented one, taking it with me on a recent trip down south to see my sister. Give one of these a go if you haven't already. They're gentle enough for use on your face and don't irritate the skin.

Dirty Works' Supreme Cream Body Butter

Love Soap&Glory? You'll love this cut price version from Sainsbury's. This came free with a copy of something or other (possibly Elle magazine) and it smells just like S&G's best-selling sickly-sweet version. Pop it in your trolley when you're next in Sainsbury's.
Do you have any similar goals for the year ahead? Have you broken your resolutions yet or are you still going strong?
