Pretty in Pink

My closet might not look it (it’s mainly a smattering of shades of black, blue, and gray), but I have a bit of a fondness for pink. Sure, it’s a girly shade and my sartorial sense leans closer to Kristen Stewart than Betty Draper, but sometimes, well, I just like things to be a little bit more feminine. It’s a complex color that works across the board with skin tones (I particularly like brights on darker complexions, and deeper shades on fair girls) and never ceases to liven up even the most lackluster look. Summer might be ending, but my love for blush tones and hot fuchsias is not about to cease.

If pink is just a tad too girly for you, opt for a coral shade — it plays up your tan. A berry tone, on the other hand, is the perfect way to take the hue well into fall and winter (while still keeping it summer friendly). Finally, blush works for all seasons — paired with a black tee one day, or a silver heel the next.

Take a look at some of my favorite ways to incorporate the color into your wardrobe, next!
