Book Report: November 2014

Lizzy and Jane Katherine Raey: Such a fantastic story. It’s a coming home story. A sister story. A foodie book—oh man is it a foodie book. I’m pretty sure I gained ten pounds just reading it. Great book.

If We Survive Andrew Klavan: This one was . . .eh. I was told I need to read more Klavan. He just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe it’s the male writer? I’m not sure. There really isn’t any reason I shouldn’t have loved this book (there was action, adventure, a smidge of romance and it was really fast paced), but I didn’t.

The 5th Wave Rick Yancey: On the flip side. This is a male writer and I LOVED this book. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. I feel like Yancey read Stephanie Myer’s The Host and thought “I could write this better.” And then did. There’s a little The Walking Dead feel to it (no worries . . . no scary zombies) and it’s just so good. I love the jumping back and forth between characters. It’s just a great read all together.

The Heist Society Ally Carter: Spy books will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m a huge fan of Alias, and I just love Ally Carter

Storm Siren Mary Weber: Holy cow. Be still my heart. Mary Weber is a master writer. She will win your heart over and then shred it (in the most lovely way possible). I so love love loved this book. Pretty sure it is one of the top two books I read this year (no joke. That good). If you have anyone left on your Christmas list, I just found the perfect gift for them!
