How To Cut Your Own Bangs By A Beautiful Mess

First up is something some may find a bit controversial. I’ve always followed the rule to not cut my own bangs. Well…maybe not always. There might have been a few catastrophic moments or two where I thought I could do it. But boy did I regret it. It’s just my bangs get to the point where they start to bug me at about three weeks after my regular hair cut, leaving three weeks I have to deal with them as such before my next appointment. Now, my hair stylist says, “Bang trims are free, come in any time”. The problem is the amount of time it takes out of my day. I love, love, love my hair stylist, but there’s nothing fast about what he does. It’s all about creating a “spa-like” environment for his clients. Such is great every six weeks, but every three weeks is a bit much.

So when I saw this post on A Beautiful Mess by a professional hairstylist for tips on cutting your own bangs, it was a definite must to share!

7 Ridiculous Fights Everyone Has with Their Significant Other

Since a good portion of this blog shares wedding inspiration, I thought this feature from Apartment Therapy was perfect to share. I remember just after Kevin and I married having some fights that made me think maybe we made a mistake. Luckily, we worked through such issues and seven years later we’re still married and our love is stronger than ever.

So when I saw this post about the 7 fights everyone has with their significant other, I thought it would be perfect to share here. If you and your partner are fighting over any of these, don’t worry…you’re not alone.

How To Organize Your Closet

If you’ve followed Fab You Bliss for a while you’ll know I turned one of our extra bedrooms into a closet room a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I’m not the best at keeping it organized. I do feel I have a lot of purging to do and I think a huge yard sale followed by donations to charity is in our near future. But being I’m still on the mend after surgery, right now I sort of have a hall-pass for being unorganized.

But once I’m feeling motivated enough, I’m heading straight to this post on Camille Styles on how to organize your closet.

Like Chocolate Sparkles Make Everything Better

Since coming home from the hospital last week I’ve had to conjure every ounce of patience because my body will absolutely not let me do what I want. Even the smallest of tasks like sitting in my office makes me tired.

Thank heaven for laptops and sparkly sequins slippers! Both have made my continuing recovery easier and fun!

I mean, how could you look at these green sequins slippers and not smile?

Free People Soft Focus Outfit

This outfit, featured on Free People’s blog last week is right up my alley as of late. I’m all about a very Bo-Ho chic style right now, using lots of loose fitting, flowing fabrics. So this look definitely caught my attention. It’s pretty and soft and feminine, and everything I love.

Pink Peonies Closet Office Re-Do

Oh lovely Rachel. If we weren’t lovingly envious of her before with her beauty, fab style, and gorgeous blog, the completion of her new closet-office re-do designed by Alice Lane should do the trick. What I wouldn’t do to work in such a beautiful room surrounded by so many lovely pieces. Oh my!

This post on how to easily make throw cushions on a pair & a spare really got me thinking of so many ideas for the little pieces of fabric I have left over from many projects.

Maddie & Tae Girl In A Country Song

And finally, if you haven’t heard of these girls or seen their video Girl In A Country Song, you’re in for a treat. Check out the video below. These smart teens are skyrocketing to the top in the country world through their clever writing, good looks, and diverse talents. Not to mention their humble vibe.

I find Maddie & Tae refreshing and fun, and I can’t wait to see where all of this takes them. It’s nice to see fame come to people who are grounded and humble. Here’s to hoping such won’t change them!

And that’s it. Hope you enjoyed this weeks Sum It Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by!
