Iceland Midnight Sun Engagement Session

Through winter and spring in Iceland, the darkness of night lasts most of the day as well. But in summer and fall daylight is king. In fact, day takes over into what is known as midnight sun.

During this time of year daylight can last up to 18 hours a day. So Tara and Landon took full advantage through their Iceland midnight sun engagement session with the very talented Photos by Miss Ann behind the lens.

On top of the day/night uniqueness, Iceland is also one of the few places in the world where you can experience waterfalls, glaciers, tectonic plates, and basalt lava rocks all in the same day. This wonderful island’s scenery is epic and alive. And in my opinion, it is the perfect place to mark a special moment like this.

Tara and Landon, who live in Calgary Alberta, found themselves drawn to Iceland, in particular Thingvellir National Park to have their engagement session. They are both geologists so this spot was very meaningful for them. This session was held on June 26th during five days of rain. But Landon and Tara embraced the unruly weather by donning Icelandic sweaters, hats, and hiking boots to ensure the adventure level was at it’s max.

The couple ventured out onto cliff edges, endured waterfall spray, jumped around to marsh islands, and ran hand in hand on the tectonic plates. It was magical! This proves how exciting an e-session can be even in the rain.

Isn’t it just lovely? Thanks to Photos by Miss Ann and Tara and Landon for sharing.
