Oh my, what a view. This was the roof of our Airbnb apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn. It’s a little grungier than my usual backdrop but it felt like the most beautiful place in the world after an amazing day in NYC, with the sun setting behind the Manhattan skyline in the distance.

This was only our second trip to NY after falling in love with it last year, and once again we decided to stay a little out of the way, living with some New Yorkers in a loft in Bushwick. Experiencing the city like a real New Yorker gives you a totally new perspective.

Miguel and I walked and walked, exploring the area and burning off the burgers and pizza we were eating at the best little restaurants.

Although, our eagerness to walk absolutely everywhere was probably a little naive, as walking through a few less friendly looking neighbourhoods on our way home at night didn’t feel particularly safe, forcing us to make use of our subway card and the handy L train on subsequent trips!
