A Few Of My Favourite Things #4

A Few Of My Favourite Things

Happy weekend! I’m spending mine from the sofa with the Sims 4 as company – anybody else doing the same?!

I’m not great at doing this on a monthly basis, so let’s randomly label this one #4! Here is another bunch of things/places that I loved recently – this round-up even involved me attempting to animate a dancing baby tree…intrigued? Get scrolling!

Beauty

Diorskin Star

You know I’m not a huge beauty expert – I find something I like and I stick to it rather than shopping around or doing a lot of research. That’s why it’s handy being a blogger, because every now and then when I’m offered a new product to try, I’ll stumble across a gem! Diorskin Star has just launched, and whilst I’ve only been using it for a couple of days, I know it’s going to replace my old foundation and become the go-to in my morning routine.

The coverage is medium – it’s enough to even out my tone and cover any old acne scars, but unlike other foundations that boast a good coverage, this one also has a barely-there finish. It’s not quite matte and not quite dewy, but sits very naturally between the two. If you want something that feels and looks light but has staying power, this is the one for you!

My skin wasn’t in the best of conditions when I took the snaps above and might not get my point across properly (but I think dry skin and spots are a topic for another post!) but you get the gist!

Eat

Forge & Co

I don’t head to east London too often, but when I do, I always seem to end up with a nice sugary tea in front of me at Forge & Co. This time I went along with Lucy and we tried it out for dinner – I opted for ribs whilst she picked out the burger.

Whilst the food was good, I think I prefer this as a place to come and chill and grab a cup of tea with a friend, or somewhere to take your laptop and work. People tapping away on their computers or having a meeting on the table next to you doesn’t make for the most relaxing dining experience, but for a brunch meeting it’s absolutely ideal. And the crockery and furniture is totally Instagrammable too…that’s how I pick out my lunch spots these days ; )

Buy

Lucky Dip Club

Oh my god. I’m totally in love with the Lucky Dip Club. Not only am I a fan of surprise packages (who isn’t?!), stationery and cute things totally float my boat too. You can get your mitts on the mystery boxes of goodies monthly, but they sell out within a matter of hours, so you have to be quick!

The August box included badges, bunting, a zip-up case, a pencil and a notepad. A big box of win as far as I’m concerned!

Be sure to bookmark the page for next month!

Watch

Guardians of the Galaxy

Hands up if you watched Guardians of the Galaxy?! When I saw the poster I wasn’t particularly enthused, spaceships/raccoons/tree men aren’t usually my bag, but as my fiancé (ooh la la) Miguel spent months working on it, it was practically a requirement that we went to see it as soon as it came out.

Of course, I totally loved it. It made me laugh out loud and cry real tears, which is a good indicator that it was a winner! But what I loved even more then Chris Pratt’s topless scene was Groot. I realised now whilst writing this that I can’t say any more about the character or the little handmade plushie that Miguel got me for my birthday without spoiling the story, but if you’ve seen it…you know!

If you’re yet to watch it – keep an eye out for Miguel’s name in the credits at the end!

Interiors

Evencki

One of my main goals in life is to get a bed at home that’s as comfortable as one in a hotel. An almost unattainable goal, so it seems, even after splashing out on the most expensive pillows I could find. But I’m a step closer after getting my mitts on a set of Evencki bed linen!

Evencki are a small company based in Berlin that focus on quality; their fabrics are sourced in Italy, and put together by tailors in Poland. Of course, that attention to detail comes at a price – their linen doesn’t come cheap, but the slipping into the softest sheets ever make it totally worth it. No more Primark bedding for me!

On that note…time for an early night! x
