Five Reasons Why I Hate Pinterest

Hey everyone, source: Digitalmomblog.com I’ve had this negative feeling towards Pinterest ever since it went viral, but I never really sat down and put into words as to why I roll my eyes every time a friend sends me link of something cool they found on Pinterest. And while I do see the fun in it and the almost limitless source of inspiration, there are just a couple of things that I couldn’t help but feel kind of iffy about. And yes I do use Pinterest. I just hate and use it, the same way Americans hate Mayonnaise but still eat it. Take this with a grain of salt and a pinch of humor:) Sorry hipsters, here is 5 reasons why I hate Pinterest: Google images is better. Yep that’s right. Looking up a blueberry scone recipe on Pinterest might feel like being on top the world, but Google images will give out thousands and thousands more options. And guess what, clicking on the picture magically takes you to the website source, just like Pinterest. “OMG!!1 did you find this on Pinterest?”. Nope, actually found it on thebeautydepartment.com or other wonderful original content website/blog. What bugs me is people referencing Pinterest as the original source of where they found the content from. Nobody would ever say they found something on google images; then why say they found it on Pinterest? Giving proper credit is very important. Pinterest doesn’t own any of its content, therefore it shouldn’t be credited as a primary source. No Private Boards. Quite frankly I like the idea of pinning things that inspire me and keeping them all in one place or organized by categories, makes me feel all fuzzy inside! I just wish I could keep certain boards private and use for my own reference without “insipiring” other people. Basically if I find an idea that I really like and am planning on using it for the future for something on my blog or my channel, I will never put it on Pinterest. Body Inspiration Pictures.I’m a skinny girl, but the truth is that my body looks nothing like most of those perfectly toned body pictures that people repin like french cookies. No it doesn’t inspire me, it makes me feel depressed and gives me unrealistic expectations. Because lets face it, unless we have a VERY strict diet and a workout regimen of 6 times a week, 9 out of 10 times the “bodyspiration” pictures are just there to make you sigh and hopelessly reach for the cookie jar. And finally: I hope you enjoyed my little rant and if you liked it don’t forget to repin it…nahhh just kidding:) It feels kind of awkward adding “Think Chic” at the end of this not so positive post, so I’m going to just end it abruptly.
