The Project of Doom - 2015

It is with GREAT EXCITEMENT that we announced The Project of Doom 2015 Quilt Along!

This award winning (no joke!) paper pieced Harry Potter Bookcase Quilt is by far our most popular project here on Fandom In Stitches. We've had repeated requests to bring it back as a community-wide project...So, we are!
To make this BIG project more doable, we'll be making one block a week starting on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, and more importantly, we'll be doing it TOGETHER.
Whether this is your first Project of Doom or your fifth, we encourage you to stitch along with us.
Never finished your original Project of Doom? Use this Quilt Along as an excuse to get it out and get stitching again!

Want to make blocks, but don't need a whole quilt? We'll be collecting blocks all year long to make fun charity quilts for The Linus Connection, which provides quilts for kids in crisis Central Texas!
Fabric: You will need the same background fabric throughout the entire quilt, and I recommend something neutral, a tone on tone beige, gray, or similar, anything that will make the block designs stand out. You'll need approximately 3 yards of background fabric. That leaves a lot of wiggle room for mistakes and for your own style of paper piecing. All other fabrics for the actual blocks will be small amounts. You can work from scraps or start collecting fun, magical fat quarters, batiks, etc. This quilt uses approximately 1 yard of sashing fabric and 1 yard of border fabric, but I recommend waiting on that until you see how your blocks turn out to decide what you want.
