Burberry Lip Velvet in Pink Apricot

I like no-fuss makeup for everyday wear so I usually opt for a more subdued lip color in favor of bold, bright lips. I generally prefer nude lipstick over any other shades just because it's a hell lot easier for me to pull of that shade.

I find that the Burberry Lip Velvet in Pink Apricot has more peach than pink. It has a lovely satin finish that feels super natural on the lips. Unlike the Burberry Lip Cover casing, the Lip Velvet has a matte metal bullet. It also has a magnetic closure which is honestly, one of my favorite things about it. It just screams of luxe and elegance.

As I said on my last post on Burberry Lip Velvet, I said that this is the most comfortable matte lipstick I've ever tried. It's so feather light, it literally feels like you swiped nothing on your lips. The thing that I love the most about the Lip Velvet is that it's super pigmented - with just one layer of the lipstick, you would already get an opaque coverage. It doesn't last long - though Burberry doesn't claim it to be long lasting - give or take 3 hours and you'll definitely notice the lipstick fading. It won't survive lunch, too. It just sorts of fade away after any kind of... activities.

One of the biggest downside that I found when using this lipstick is that it has the tendency to slip through every crooks and cranny of your lips. Exfoliation is a must. I made the mistake of applying this on the go, and a few minutes later as I was checking myself out in the car mirror, I saw just how horrendous my lips looked. But this can be easily remedied, so I don't really mind personally. I mentioned this just so you can think about it before splurging for one. It's not exactly cheap, although cheaper by high-end cosmetics brand standards (it's $30 vs Givenchy's $36, YSL's $34).

Shade wise, this isn't anything special. You can find a peach lipstick with just any cosmetic brand, really. And to be honest, Pink Apricot looks fairly similar to Wet n Wild Just Peachy except the latter is, ironically, more pink than Pink Apricot.
