{ photographing pretty things for the shop }

Oh… this is probably the worst I’ve neglected my blog… ever. I think it’s almost getting easier to neglect it too, so I will have to fix that by pushing through some walls I’ve accidentally built up in my absence… I think it’s important to always return to your blog if you own a business though, as it is sort of your “home-base”, and I especially love it because I can be as creative with it as I see fit. For now, I’ll just share some thoughts and fill you guys in on what’s been happening, but I promise I’ll do an update ASAP that isn’t summing everything up through instagram shots (although it is where you can find me most these days)

…When I decided to purchase my fancy espresso machine, it’s been non-stop taking up various projects and commissions to make the purchase. I’ve been spread pretty thin since, and its like it’s only been getting worse. When I wrap up one deal, I’m taking on two more to try and make my goals. It’s been a pretty rough year financially, and much as I’m happy that I got my machine, I probably should have waited… ah well. Anyway, I mean it’s getting worse because now we’ve been working on buying a home. We are trying to start a new chapter and improve our financial situation by moving to a cheaper place, also closer to my husband’s company. This has become my obsession, as it’s been a difficult and tiresome journey… I’m keeping my chin up though.

Ok.. so these last few projects on my plate will be the last for a good while. My new goal is to RELAX. I really need it, and I think it will help me prioritize and re-think what I want to do with myself as a shop-owner, blogger, graphic designer, illustrator, homeschooler, and photographer… Sheesh. See? When I put it all out there like that, no wonder I’m going crazy.

(BTW, if it sounds like I’m going on hiatus… that’s not what I mean at all – no no no, I’m a total work-a-holic. But I plan to slow down on some of the side jobs!)
