Best Dressed At Venice Film Festival 2014: Day 1

After a serious lull of big red carpet events, we’re welcoming the 2014 Venice Film Festival with open arms (and a very sharp eye for style hits).

Kicking off last night’s opening ceremony was Emma Stone‘s latest film, Birdman, with the leading lady setting the glamour stakes extra high in her forest green Valentino couture gown, featuring a gorgeous tulle skirt and daring plunging neckline, which looked amazing against her pale skin and bright red hair (we love her new ‘do, by the way). We also fell head over heels for her simple Proenza Schouler monochrome look earlier in the day for the film’s photocall – can she do no wrong?

Also putting her stamp on the first day of proceedings was juror Moran Atias, wearing a sleek look by Emilio Pucci for a daytime photocall, consisting of baby blue wide legged trousers and a navy tailored blazer, before donning the hue yet again for the Birdman premiere in a figure sculpting strapless gown by Zac Posen.

And with the likes of Naomi Watts, Zoe Kravitz and January Jones set to fly in over the next few days, along with Stone’s boyfriend Andrew Garfield (here’s to hoping they have a Blake ‘n’ Ryan Cannes moment!), we’re predicting we’re in for a real sartorial treat over the next few days.
