Starting off with a few tailored pieces in preppy pink and navy pajama stripes, Giles‘ SS15 show quickly turned into a trip to the jungle – or was it Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Either way, it was nature and the creatures who live in it that were the designer’s focus this season. Sequinned serpents were wrapped around torsos of dresses and fluffy leopard paws crept over the shoulder of a full-length gown. Their spots were magnified and cut into squares before being re-arranged to achieve an abstract effect, while their claws were reimagined into jacquard and blown up into sequinned prints on tunics and oversized tees. Finally, a series of laser-cut leather dresses, depicting the flora and fauna of the tropics closed the show – and yes, it was definitely one wild trip! Click through to see the full collection.
