As he grows older, my son is developing a definite cheeky streak. This evening after his bath my husband wrapped him up in a towel (as he always does) and my son very deliberately laid his head against his Dad’s chest, deliberately making his T-shirt wet from his wet hair! You could tell from the grin on his face that he knew exactly what he was doing!
How is it so many people don’t seem to know their own email address? I fairly regularly receive emails that are meant for other people – usually it’s because they have the same name as me, and presumably use the same email provider. I generally just delete them (although when I received a booking confirmation for a hotel in Paris I was tempted to turn up!). They’re usually just one-off occurrences, however recently I’ve been receiving a number of UPS dispatch information emails addressed to a man named Frederick. It became clear this chap had used my email address in his customer record, and was quite a prolific customer! So I notified the customer service email address of the situation, and received this reply very quickly. I’ve also received no further emails – excellent customer service
I use a written “to do” list. I’ve tried many digital ones over the years, but I have learned that I’m most likely to get things done if they’re written on a physical piece of paper sitting next to me at my desk. This year I’m using a personalised diary from personal-planner.co.uk to manage my tasks at work (I got this free using a voucher a received from a blogging event last year). It works really well, apart from when plans change. This week I rearranged my summer holidays, meaning the application of copious qualities of Tipp-Ex to the pages relating to my original holiday dates!
The whole family is very excited about our latest review opportunity. We took delivery today of a Neato Botvac 75 – a robot vacuum cleaner. I have heard great things about this little fellow and we’re very much looking forward to trying it out, although we will have to clear a lot of stuff off the floor first!
After having to be postponed twice due to bad weather, my daughter’s school sports day went ahead today. There are four teams in her school, and she is in the green team, so she wore a green T-shirt for the event. She is already so much more sporty that I ever was – she ran in 4 races (running, egg and spoon, bean bag on head and sack) and was placed in every one! One 1st, one 2nd and two 3rd places! She was very happy because the green team won overall as well
School finishes for my daughter next Wednesday, so it’s not long now until the summer holidays. Today I dug out our “holiday board” – I have to see the plans all laid out like this in order to feel like I know what I’m doing! We’ll be populating this board over the next few days with the arrangements that are already in place, and then we’ll be able to slot in all the other things we want to do
Today I’ve abandoned my husband and kids and met up with a small group of my girlfriends in Birmingham. We try to get together every now and again for a catch up and a nice meal. And perhaps some wine
One of my friends booked us a table at the Thai Edge restaurant, and we enjoyed a lovely meal together. This is a selection of the food we ate
