Life is starting to settle back into the old routines now. The geekson is getting used to the idea of going to school – by the end of this week he’d stopped crying at the drop-off in the morning. Despite the tears he says he is enjoying it, so that’s good. The geekdaughter is very happy to be back at school as well, and is loving her new teacher. I only work three days per week, so I now have two days when both kids are at school and I can actually crack on and get things done. I have some very grand decluttering plans, but not much of that came to fruition this week! I’ll get there, I’m sure. Anyway, here is my selection of daily photos for the last week:
I absolutely love this picture of my two kids cuddling each other. I love how happy and relaxed they look together.
It was the after-show party today following a successful week of “My Boy Jack” at Knutsford Little Theatre. The party was held at the home of one of the cast members, and it was such a nice day we spent the whole time in the garden. The kids loved his double hammock, and are already hatching plans of how we could get one into our garden!
A bit of a rite of passage today – now that my son has started school he has graduated to “swim academy” and now has his swimming lesson after school on a Monday, at the same time as his sister. This was a big step for him, as it marks the first time he has had to go into the pool on his own, without either his father or me being with him.
I am told he did really well, no crying or fuss, and even managed to swim half a length hanging on to a “noodle”.
There was a change for my daughter as well, as she’s been moved into the next level class Her teacher now is the teacher she had all the way through her pre-school classes. She is delighted to be reunited with her, and worked really hard for her. The class she is in takes place in the deep end, so she really does have to work hard to stay afloat through the class.
The latest thing my daughter has spent her pocket money on is a Rapunzel wig, which arrived today. Its slightly freaky seeing her with blonde hair!
I enjoyed sitting in my Mum’s garden this afternoon – it’s a little sun trap, and the flowers are looking gorgeous.
I am not a gardener. I can’t even keep a hanging basket alive!
Yes, I know I need to water it. I just keep forgetting!
My husband is a very keen player of Go. I am a constant disappointment to him because I’ve never mastered the game. So he’s moved on to teaching our daughter. Apparently she’s starting to get the hang of it.
We visited friends today who have two sons, and therefore a great collection of cars and other things that my son loves playing with. Today his highlight has been their collection of planes and he has been flying them around the house.
