Hand-Colored Stacking Valentines Tin Box Set

I Keep My Love For You In A Box -ed Set Of Five

Have you ever come across an item that you know would make a great something but you don't quite know what that something is yet? That's what happened to me when I came across a lovely little set of stacking metal tins - I knew they would make a great something but what? Well, I finally figured out what - a little Valentine's Day Stacking Valentine! And this easy little project fits right into this month's CHA Designer Craft Connection Blog Hop theme of "Handmade With Love". (I even made a PDF of the heart shapes ready for you to print out, color and cut out to adorn your own tins!)

Here's how:

Hand-Colored Stacking Valentines Tin Box Set

Materials:

- Stacked Cans (This sample set from Best Containers works great!)

- Printout of Hearts & Circles Coloring Sheet ( Download Free PDF Here)

- Assorted Markers, Paint Pens, Crayons

- Glue Stick

- Scissors

Instructions:

1. Download and print out the PDF of the hearts and circles. You may need to resize them to fit your particular tins. I like to print on a nice watercolor paper, but not all printers can handle thick paper so adjust accordingly. You can also print the design on sticker paper or colored paper too.

2. The hearts and circles on the printout are plain and unadorned so color them with markers, paint pens or crayons. This is a perfect time to play with all those new markers and color sticks that I know you've been collecting!

3. Use the scissors to cut out the paper circles.

4. Use the glue stick to attach the circles to the tin lids.

5. Give to your sweetheart! Don't forget to add a tiny candy piece or gift to the smallest tin for an extra treat.

As an extra surprise, when the cans are set out in order in a circle they read "For you / All / My / Love / Is just / For you". Try making these in different colors or for birthdays and other holidays. Enjoy!!
