The Make Up Show NYC 2013

The Ghetto Fashionista

This year my approach to attending The Make Up Show was slightly different from my inaugural attendance last year. Last year I viewed the event exclusively through a blogger lens; however, this year was different because I can now add Creative Director and make up artist to my lists of talents. As such, I was interested in not only presenting new products to my readers but also in deepening my own level of education as an artist. I had a chance to sit in on quite a few panel discussions including Brandolyn Fultons of Face Atelier take on creating the perfect 15 minute face- offering up such advice as adding a shadow (like expresso) smudged at the lash line to create a more modern look prior to adding liner to the hysterical Buntricia who offered great advice on creating a flawless finish for a bride on her special day. At the end of the day, regardless of your craft attention to trends and continuing education are critical to honing your talents and The Make Up Show is a great venue to add to your skill set if you’re a serious MUA.

Check out The Make Show for details on upcoming shows and make plans to attend!
