New Biore Launches

Biore are a brand who I think most would associate with nose strips – those oh-so-sexy stickers that you place on your nose, leave to dry before peeling off to hopefully yank out a load of blackheads – but did you know there are now eight products in the range? There are various choices of strips for both face and nose, plus three new launches; the Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser, the Self Heating One Minute Mask and the Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips.

The Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser is a lovely, rich and tingly cleanser with a fruity scent that effectively removes grime, dirt and make-up. It’s a thick, black wash that you work into a gentle foam before using as a typical wash-off cleanser. The two leading ingredients are charcoal and menthol, the former of which is a great ingredient for spotty and/or clogged skin as it draws out impurities and cleanses skin. I think the menthol element is there purely for a post-cleanse tingle, but it does add a toning element. Sensitive or dehydrated skin types might be nervous about using this, but I’d say give it a go as I certainly didn’t find it dried out my skin as I expected, although of course you will need a moisturiser afterwards as you would with any wash-off cleanser. This is £4.99 here – link.

The Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips are new, hardcore versions of the original pore strips with extra spot-fighting goodies on the strip such as tea tree, witch hazel and menthol. I really enjoy using these pore strips as I feel that at the very least they leave my nose looking a lot smoother and clearer, although I’ve pretty much given up on the idea of a product that will yank out my extremely stubborn nose blackheads. Having said that, there are certainly a few black dots on the strip whenever I use it, so one would assume at least some of my blackheads are being whipped away. These are £7.99 for 6 here – link.

I’ve saved the best ’til last with the Self Heating One Minute Mask which I was soooo excited to see relaunched as I used to absolutely love these when I was younger, then they disappeared and I was gutted! When these were initially around they were in little foil pods and the product was grey with little blue bits that burst as you moved the product around your face, which then eventually turned the mask blue and that was when you new the mask was finished doing it’s thing; such nostalgia! I’m happy to report that these masks are as good as I remember; they warm up really well which I always feel means my pores are being ‘warmed open’ so all the gunk is more easily accessible for the charcoal – whether this is accurate or not is debatable but I really enjoy using these, especially as they’re so speedy to use – expect a timesaver’s Triple Threat facial feature soon! These are £7.99 for 4 here – link.

Biore are a funny range as they’ve been around for a while, yet they keep their collection small and fuss-free. I think it’s safe to say that anyone with tricky or spot-prone skin has at least one Biore product in their kit, so I’m happy they’re adding more to their range.
