Cargo Cosmetics Essential Eye Shadow Palette

It’s all very well being faced with a palette containing dozens of shades for you to experiment and play with, but sometimes this can prove a little overwhelming and you end up just using a couple of colours that you know work – certainly when I’m in a hurry or haven’t had enough sleep, I use what I call my “default shades” which are the few colours I know will do the trick with minimal creativity needed. A palette such as the Cargo Cosmetics Essential Eye Shadow Palette is perfect for those of us who have these types of days as all the creativity is done for you, so you just have to apply and blend and that’s pretty much it!

The Cargo Essential Eye Shadow Palette comes in five different shade variants and the I have is called “Bronze”. There are four shades included which allow you to create a basic eye look, or adapt it for more smokiness. The four shades are labelled Browbone, Lid, Crease and Outer Corner so they really are easy to use, and in the pictures I’ve followed the labels and also taken the Lid shade under the eye and used the Outer Corner shade on the outer corner of both the upper and lower lids.

The shadows themselves are buttery, easy-to-blend and very flattering in both colour and finish. I especially love the matte Crease shade and on days when I’m going for a no make-up look (or I just can’t be arsed) then I use the Crease shade alone for some very subtle definition. The shade I use least is the Browbone shade as I prefer to use alternative highlighter shades, but the other three get plenty of use making this a fabulous little edit of colours. It’s usually £20 (so £5 a shade) but it’s currently on offer at Debenhams for £18 here – link.
