Autumn Make-Up Bag

As I'm sure all make-up lovers will agree, one of the most exciting things about a new season is the switch up in our make-up bags. I always try and make a concious effort to get a little experimental at the start of a new season and push myself to try out new shades or formulas. Of course, the most exciting part of it all is switching up the actual bag itself, and this Morris & Co Cosmetic Bag* has Autumn written all over it. The material is a durable wipe clean fabric and it is probably the roomiest make-up bag I've ever owned, here is what's inside;

For base, its all the usual suspects I'm afraid including my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation (101 classic ivory), Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (02) and my beloved Rimmel Stay Matte Face Powder (003 Peach Glow). All of these are fail safe choices for me, especially when it comes to my everyday, if I'm going out on the evening or have a bit more time then I'll maybe mix these up, but day to day this is my go to base. I love warming my skin up a little in the cooler months as my complexion can really lose its glow in the cold weather, so my Pur Minerals Bronze Glow* is the perfect face warmer for paler complexions, this also doubles as my contour. As my bronzer has a bit of a 'glow' to it I don't really bother with a highlight for day to day, only in the evenings so to follow the bronzer this season I have opted for my all time favourite blush, Dior Rosy Glow. This stuff is beautiful, it gives your cheeks such a natural youthful flush, and is so build able. I have converted so many people to this. I will always love my Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil, but I decided to push myself into trying something new, that being the Smashbox Brow Tech To Go. This is a bit of a new concept for me as I am so used to a pencil, the formula of this is more like a crayon, it's also a teeny tiny bit darker than I normally go, but I like it. It's also nice to have the gel on the other end too.

Base complete and moving onto eyes, something I really wanted to achieve for Autumn was a more natural toned down eye. I have always been a heavy liquid eye liner every single day kind of gal, so I wanted to embrace more subtle looks. I'm doing well so far, mainly because of my new favourite eye-shadow the L'Oreal Colour Riche (201 Cafe Saint Germain), I cannot begin to tell you how amazing this eye shadow is. The formula is a sort of strange gel to powder that really stays put all day and blends beautifully. The colour is the perfect everyday effortless shade for me, it smokes out really nicely with just a little blending and has a pretty subtle shimmer that really brightens the eyes. If I am feeling like adding a touch of liner then I opt for my usual Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Liner. Finally on to lashes, I'm going big with my lashes this seaosn especially as I'm pairing everything else down and I am loving the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture combined with my little sample of Model Co Power Lash Mascara*. The L'Oreal defines and volumises the lashes and the Model Co lengthens and blackens them, perfect.

The easiest way to experiment with make-up for me is with lip colour, I love using lots of different products. My everyday shade has to be my Rimmel Notting Hill Nude, a fail safe for any season. Then I have been loving a bright raspberry pink lip as I feel it really lifts my complexion, the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (05 Ole Flamingo) is probably my favourite lip product of 2014, I could write you an essay on how much I love this...but I won't don't worry. Finally it wouldn't be Autumn without a bit of berry and the Cargo Lipstick in Bordeaux* is the perfect deep wine shade that suits the season so well.
So that is the ins and outs of my new Autumn make up bag, I love a good nosey through other peoples make up bags so please be sure to let me know what's in yours.
