PARK STYLE

I will out myself right now by saying that I have very cheap style, especially during the day. I love a bargain, can’t go past a good basic from K-Mart and at least half of my wardrobe is thrifted. I very rarely buy designer clothes. Phew, I said it. I feel better now. Especially since becoming a Mum to two messy boys, I can’t handle the anxiety of wearing anything expensive around them anyway, and comfort is high on my list. Wrangling a toddler in too-tight pants and heeled boots just doesn’t do it for me. But that’s not to say I have morphed into a sartorially challenged stay-at-home-mum that doesn’t know what a fashion blog is, I am simply being realistic. I think most Mums, like me, are sick too death of being thrown into the ‘frumpy & unfashionable’ category just because we are Mothers. The amount of times I have been told that I ‘look good for a Mum’ - what does that mean exactly? Anyway, I am getting off topic. Dressing when you’re on ‘Mum-duty’, (and like most things when it comes to Motherhood) is a delicate balancing act, and there is a fine line between stylish and casual to comfortable and boring. I think it is harder to dress casually sometimes than it is to put together a great outfit for somewhere that doesnt involve sand and squashed food. Two weeks ago, a good friend and myself were at a park on the Gold Coast, drinking coffee and watching our little boys play together. We commented on the amount of well-dressed Mums in the park, and how we should start a ‘street style’ for Mums and kids. Casual, comfortable, affordable and stylish outfit ideas and inspiration for Mums and where to buy it. Being that I have a blog, and my friend, Jenna is a photographer – it seemed like a good idea! So excited to share with you our new weekly post: PARK STYLE. Outfit Inspiration for Mum’s & Babies.
