Runway Review: Issa Spring 2015

Creative Director Blue Farrier turned to simple energy, depictions of movement; running horses and naive florals for Issa’s spring/summer collection.

Things felt incredibly fresh – by the brand’s own admittance, their evolution continues. Shapes were clean whilst their developing signatures such as wrapping, draping and hidden feminine details were all there. Farrier was also influenced by Pop Art, seen in the form of a simple monochrome wavy line, appliquéd in organza and vinyl. The running horses reference was a constant throughout, seen enlarged and abstract on cute shifts and more detailed on cropped pants. Panelling was also key, with a reoccurring mesh hemline on dresses and blocks of big bold colour featuring intermittently.
