Runway Review: Brunello Cucinelli Spring 2015

We here at OliviaPalermo.com have quite a soft spot for Brunello Cucinelli, and with his latest collection our heart grows even fonder. The gentleman known for his spot-on luxurious take on splicing menswear with womenswear showed off this talent with sporty yet chic and wearable silhouettes in a neutral palette of creams, pale pinks, charcoal and grey with the addition of delicate high-end fabrics and details like laser-cut silk, mink, python and ostrich feathers for Spring 2015.

In fact, each ensemble was a precise balancing act of masculine and feminine. Pleated silk bermuda shorts and a tulle puffed up drawstring skirt were paired with sneakers or fringed bolero jackets, oversized wool-crepe double breasted vests laid over a white tee with a fluid floor length metallic silk skirt and a dramatically oversized sweatshirt t-shirt was worn over a tiered feather midi-skirt. The final three looks took more of an evening approach but still done as only Mr. Cucinelli would as beautifully pleated high slitted skirts were topped with ostrich lined vests and an actual top hat proving the balance stays true whether the sun is up or down. In the end, Brunello Cucinelli demonstrates that when pieces are constructed with ultimate care and a perfectionists’ touch, the only surmisable outcome is a covetable and lust worthy collection.
