Project Declutter: Day 2 of Master Bedroom

Day 2: Master Bedroom

I don’t have a before picture, because our master bedroom floor and dressers were MESSY. I’m too embarrassed. It was definitely a day to do laundry. I got all my laundry started early in the day, because I knew it would be during nap time that I would work on decluttering.

1) Set the timer for 30-50 minutes.

If you have a limited amount of time, then just set the timer for whatever you can manage. I decided that for today, I could work through all of Ain’s nap time, then, once I heard him wake up I would put items away in other rooms.

2) Go through every drawer, cupboard, closet, etc. In other words – be thorough.

So, for today’s assignment I first just tackled the random stuff that was on our bedroom floor and sorted it: either stuff to throw away, give or sell, to put away in another room, or to keep and upcycle. Much of the stuff was either trash or relocated to other rooms. I piled the items on the bed, so I could take to other rooms once Ain woke up.

The dresser was piled high with papers, jewelry askew, and random samples I’ve collected over the past 4 months or so. hehe. I went through all my jewelry and put aside items that I didn’t use in the donate box. The dresser needed a through dusting, and then it was picture worthy!!

A basket for my smaller earrings, rings, special necklaces, and bracelets:

I put together this easy DIY earring display a couple of years ago and have LOVED it ever since!!

Once again, a beautiful space!! It’s it much more peaceful to live in a clutter-free home?

Tomorrow, we’ll see if I can finish up the master bedroom, by going through the bookcase and the rest of the closet (purses, shoes, etc.)!!
