rowan: 1 month old

I took these photos when Rowan turned 1 month old. I just love this little nugget. <3

I've been getting back to work this week and it's been interesting trying to find balance and time to get all my work done with a little one. I'm excited to learn more about how to make this work and share my thoughts with you in the coming months! Being a mom is the most difficult and wonderful thing I've ever done. I wouldn't trade it for the world, but it's also sometimes completely overwhelming. I'm falling more and more in love with our little man and loving every new moment with him. At the same time, I'm definitely working through a lot of the emotions of feeling trapped, learning to love my postpartum body, and making sure I don't lose who I am. I'll tell you more about my postpartum experience in another post, but part of my experience has been dealing with severe postpartum depression. I definitely have discovered a passion in my heart for loving on other new moms who are going through the difficult and varied emotions after having a baby.

We went to Rowan's one month checkup and he is one big boy!! He is already 12lb 4oz and 23 1/2 inches long :) The doctor said he is very strong and healthy. We are so thankful for that! :) I hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday!
