DENIM STORIES

As many of you have noticed I’ve been writing this blog in English for two years now. Well, times are changing, fashion is changing and so am I as a blogger. To really get to know my Dutch visitors I’ve decided to embrace my mother tongue and to provide you with more Dutch style advice. How do you like that?

To start of with a few denim stories: the jeans, dungarees and denim blouse. Items one can’t miss in his or her essential wardrobe so for everyone NOT knowing what I’m talking about: explore shops and webshops to find your perfect wash, colour and fit. Guaranteed you will still possess them ten years later from now: denim is known for its unique way of fading which will leave you with a unique item that’s both sustainable and timeless. What else do you want?!

Recently I was strolling through a shop called Episode, a second hand store here in Amsterdam. There I cached an old classic Levis 601 with straight cut. I’ve combined it with bordeaux red items as you can see, which contrasts beautifully with the kobalt blue of the denim.

My style advice? Converse, Dr.Martens, creepers, loose tank tops, white shirts or blouse and of course the super essential of this summer: the hat! Really want to stand out? Make sure you fetch yourself one of your moms or dads dungarees. With the right items you can twist this baby into your next superhip item.
