Becca Ultimate Crème Eyeliner in Renaissance, Neo Classic & Romanesque

I haven’t been that into eyeliners in many years. Waterproof eye pencils and regular eyeshadows have been prioritized as they don’t need the same ultra precision when applied, they are easier to blend and gives a softer look even though they can have the same colour intensity as a liquid eyeliner. Then I bumped into the Ultimate Crème Eyeliner from Becca, a thin and smooth waterproof liner in a glass jar that I’m not scared to pick up during stressful mornings. Apply with a tiny sharp brush for a precise line, with a smudger brush for smokey (read: quick) lines or as a cream shadow all over the lid if you want that. The ones without shimmer work fine on the waterline aswell. It doesn’t create crusty flakes when you apply it either, thank the lord, is there anything more horrible?

When I realized how good they were I of course had to get more, so matte brown Renaissance got company from dusty shimmery green Neo Classic and matte black Romanesque. There’s also a shimmery plum called Belle Epoque which got to stay in the store. All of them have the same smooth formula and great wear time so pick whatever colour your heart desires! I bought mine at Space NK in England but they are also available at their website.

Becca Ultimate Crème Eyeliner in Renaissance, Neo Classic and Romanesque.

Romanesque. Your classic matte black. Doesn’t lean grey, it’s definitely pitch black, but still the tiiiniest bit.. translucent? Kind of like a soft jelly black! I like it as I don’t wear cartoony black sharpie eyeliner often, but if you do I think you might have to go over it twice. See it swatched with a single stroke below, you can see that It’s even and smooth, so there is no patchiness at all.

Neo Classic. A muted green with turquoise shimmer. It’s so fantastic I don’t know where to start, it’s THE perfect colourful everyday eyeliner! The base colour is kind of dusty and semi-sheer in a dreamy way which makes it go on looking ultra soft, it doesn’t “blacken” the eye but it’s still intense enough to give easy-to-wear colour impact. Especially when worn with apricot toned cheeks and/or lips (which I need to show in a blog poost soon). Yes yes yes yes!!

Renaissance. A matte medium brown with a neutral undertone. Not blackened, not ashy, not orange leaning. It’s a gorgeous shade of brown that brings out blue and green eyes, plus it frames lashes beautifully if you wear it with a pitch black mascara. It’s dark enough to give depth without being read as black, it’s still clearly brown. It’s the most pigmented one of the bunch and my shade of choice if I want to do a heavy crisp eyeliner.

Romanesque, Neo Classic and Renaissance. All swatched with one stroke.
