I am an Astronaut

The other day I went through a little fashion/blog/identity crisis. This blog needed to be reevaluated, redesigned, and reorganized, it wasnt what I wanted it to be so I am going to make more of an effort to make it my dream blog. Ill be picking up from where I left off all those months ago when I mixed and matched prints that didnt seem to go together and layer things that made my own head spin. There are a few outfit posts I havent posted yet because they were for a magazine and I cant post them on my blog/Lookbook until I get the go-ahead from them. Even though it may not be my style anymore, I will still post them especially the liquor store and county faire photos. They are awesome. Upon saying that Id like to share some of my personal inspiration in hopes that it inspires you as well. Bear with me, Im still figuring out the layout and how to find my inspiration. =) Someone who has always inspired me to be myself is Tavi Gevinson. Recently, she gave a TEDxteen talk and its amazing. Her thoughts are clear and beautiful, she is so intelligent and well-spoken. Rookie Mag and The Style Rookie are the best blogs to read. It doesnt matter if you are in middle school or in your mid-20s, these stories, how-tos, advice columns, etc are things that all humans can relate to. She is actually doing a road trip across the U.S. in June, making her way from NYC to LA. Shell actually be stopping in Michigan (specifically Ann Arbor) on the 28th of June, thats a Thursday. I WILL be going, so if any of you Michiganders would like to go with me, let me know and well figure out carpooling and such! "I am an Astronaut"This young boy, Ricky Wilde wrote this song at age 11 in the 70s. The lyrics are great, the music is catchy, and I can listen to it on repeat forever. Wren Fall 12 featuring Tavi GevinsonTavi has such a great voice, it has a nice calming effect on me. Regardless of it being Tavi, the video is shot well, the lyrics to Dory Previns Beware of Young Girls is haunting and beautiful, and the styling is perfect for the song and vice versa. And now a break from all the sex symbols and 60s makeup... I had opened up Japanese candy before and found silly little cake erasers, but I never knew how obsessed with kawaii erasers the Japanese were! Theres even a museum for them. The ones on the left are little nail art clay pieces, probably going to get them! I put little rose clusters on my nails the other day... they were adorable but I couldnt do ANYTHING without them popping off. Made pizza, lost 4 roses. Took my cell phone out of my purse, lost 1 rose. Pet my dog, lost 2 roses..... It was annoying after a bit. Luckily, they arent expensive so if you are looking for a cute accessory to add to a photo shoot, I highly suggest them! All images were found through Google images unless otherwise noted
