Luxury vs Budget: Contour Products

Contouring is a relatively new thing to me, although it has been around for years, I won't lie, a few years ago I wouldn't of had a clue what you were talking about. Of course thanks to the likes of Kim Kardashian, contouring is about as normal as putting your eyeliner on. Having the round baby face that I have, contouring is great to cheat my way to cheekbones, something that I doubt I will ever have naturally. However, finding the perfect contour product is extremely hard. I have found that ashy brown powders work best for me and my skin tone. With my skin being quite warm anyways and usually tanned (fake or natural) if I use a warm toned bronzer, I can find it either disappearing, or making me look way too bronzed (orange.) I have also dabbled with cream products, and that is something I just can't seem to get on board with! So powders seem the most fool proof method, and recently I have been rotating between three when it comes to trying to add some shape to my face.
Luxury: I'm going to start with the most luxurious contour product that I have, and that's the Kevyn Aucoin Contour powder. Something that most beauty bloggers own, despite the eye watering price, it really is the perfect ashy brown. The powder is very soft and blends in very nicely. The colour is just perfect for adding definition to your face and is something I turn to when I want to do some serious contouring. For £35, I know, I know, you can almost cheat your way to perfect cheekbones. However they have changed the packaging, which is a bit of a bummer, but this is my favourite contour product.
The Middle Of The Road: Next is another product I've been using, and Benefit's Hoola Bronzer*, something that is hugely cult when it comes to contouring. For £23.50, it's still not cheap, but is a little less eye watering than the Kevyn Aucoin offering. This bronzer is more warm toned than KA but still works really well, I find that this works well for bronzing, as well as a bit of contouring if that's what you desire. I find that Hoola is more of a daytime contour, so not too stark, whilst KA is more of a dramatic look. I have been using this product loads lately, and it's even great to use as a crease contour when doing your eyeshadow! If you don't mind spending up to £25.00 then this would be a good option, I think that Hoola probably works better for fair-medium skin tones, as it might be a bit too light as a contour for really tanned/dark skin tones.
Budget: This Bourjois chocolate bronzer okay I mean Delice De Poudre* is something that I'm sure many of us have tried over the years. This summer a new version has been released with half the bar now being a highlight shade. For under £10, you can get a pretty much matte bronzer, that is very similar in tone to Benefit's Hoola. The powder isn't as matte as the other two, with some very slight shimmer, but this is barely detectable. This bronzer is the warmest out of the three, but is a good budget option. Whilst the highlighter isn't glowy enough for me, it might be better for people who prefer a more subtle highlight, I'm just one of those people who doesn't mind looking a bit discobally!
Brush wise, I tend to use the Real Techniques Blush brush for my cheeks, and then an angled eyeshadow brush for my nose (yep that bad boy needs serious contouring), although I am looking for a more precise contour brush. I think I might make a Zoeva order! Remember if you are on a budget, remember that ashy brown eyeshadows work just as well for contouring! Next on my list to try is the Charlotte Tilbury filmstar and glow, but I just can't bring myself to spend the money at the moment! What's your favourite contour product? Luxury or budget?
