Crochet: Free Circle Bookmark Pattern

I wanted to make sure I re-posted this pattern after receiving a lovely response on my Instagram feed.

This is a great quick little project for a beginner but also for any avid crocheter out there who has lots of scraps of wool and no idea what to use them for. I use UK terms with the US version in brackets. I used a size 4mm hook and a mixture of Rico Cotton Arran and Drops Paris.

1. Make a magic loop, if you need help check out You Tube.
2. Chain 3
3. Work 15tr (dc) into the loop, slip stitch into the top of the chain 3 you made at the start. Fasten off.
4. Using a different colour follow steps 1 2 but this time only work 8tr (dc) into the ring. This is because you are now going to join this circle using a slip stitch to your first circle, it’s that simple!

5 6. Just place your hook up underneath the stitch of the previous circle and slip stitch them together.
7.Continue working the next 8trs (dc) into the ring and fasten off.
8. Continue with steps 1 2 4, remembering to join each circle with a slip stitch after your 8th tr (dc).

9-12. Once you’ve reached your desires length/amount of circles then you can add some little tails as a finishing touch. This again is super easy, cut off some lengths and fold them in half and using your hook slip it up underneath the stitch at the bottom of your last circle and pull up a loop then take off your hook and using your fingers pass the tail ends through the loop. I hope I explained that ok? Sometimes something so easy can actually be hard to explain, crazy hey?

I hope you enjoyed this free pattern and please leave a comment if you’ve given this a go, I’d love to know…
