Off My Chest

"Liberate yourself from that idea that people are watching." - Russell Brand

Let's agree to nix the eye contact. Not that I've given much of a choice in the matter, but I think settlements are best made with an air of amicability. Besides, 47 percent of guys look at a woman's chest first anyway, which leaves rations 2 to 1 of those who look at the eyes, so I'm really just appealing to the trend. I know the eyes are considered the doorways to the soul, but I've always considered the chest the heart's canvas. Now doesn't that sound respectably sensual? You dress it with peel-away paints of cotton, silk, satin, or if you're lucky, a bearable poly-blend. You dapple it with metal chains and jewels. Or as the alternative, your comfort leaves it bare. Regardless of choice, with every stroke, you attract first fixations. Now, there's no hiding my advocacy for the No Bra Revolution--suitably hashtaggable on nearly every medium, on all of which I'll do my soldierly duty to defend it. I prefer the smooth look of a steep neckline, or the spaciousness behind a billowing top. Of course, a matter of taste must always be taking into consideration. If your surface area is predominantly exposed skin and you're questioning how offensive it might be to someone else, you've probably gone too far. For me personally, I feel there's a baseline of clothing must be worn, and an inverse relationship must at least satisfy an equilibrium point. Meaning however much is taken away must be given back in some other respect. What I love about this shirt is the intentionally oversized fit that makes it perfect to coil in, stretch out, dress up, button down. By flawless logic, for every size it was larger than I typically buy, an extra button was undone. In this instance, since my comfort level included that extra undone button, I painted with gold. Give me a pimp medallion and a bolo tie, and I'll call it a day spent enjoying the freedom of youth I'm still fortunate enough to pull off.
