Autumn at Thisispaper Shop

Autumn at Thisispaper ShopThis autumn at Thisispaper Shop, we obsess over each step of our manufacturing process more than ever. We've made it our aim for all Thisispaper Bags & Rucksacks to be local, honest and made entirely by us in our Warsaw studio, and we've arrived at a process that makes it possible. So how do we do that? First, we source all materials from Polish manufacturers: all-natural thick sailcloth and linen for the shell of our bags; soft, but durable light blue cotton for the lining; and highest quality vegetable-tanned natural leather for the details. Once we have the materials, we fold, cut, sew and combine them together to create products of own design: lasting, functional, carefully crafted bags and rucksacks. The AW14 Bags & Rucksacks lookbook was shot by Polish photographer Kuba Dąbrowski on different locations around Warsaw. The city’s architectural landmarks and shabby back streets become a background for well-known Thisispaper classics and 3 entirely new designs: Officer Bag, Boxy Bag and Athletic Bag. This autumn is also the time when we introduce our collaboration with a Warsaw-based brand of hand-knitted hats, Córka Rybaka (Polish for Fisherman’s Daughter). Together we developed three new styles exclusively for Thisispaper Shop. All hand-made by Monika, the passionate maker behind the brand, from 100% Peruvian wool. A limited edition of 60, 20 in each of the three colors: blue, grey and mustard. Words: Thisispaper Photography: Kuba Dąbrowski
