Selected Works by Molly Matalon In her work, photographer Molly Matalon deals with body image, inter-feminine relations, idealisation, desire and obsession. Enjoy our selection of her latest works. Originally from South Florida, Molly Matalon now works and lives in New York, where she also graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Photography. For the past four years she has been photographing her mother in the South Florida landscape, interpreting their mother-daughter relationship and the image of contemporary mothers. Her recent work is a combination of emotional portraits that focus on such themes as youth and identity, with vibrant pictures of the surrounding landscape. In September this year, Molly released her first book in collaboration with VUU Studios, a small Brooklyn-based publishing studio. The book, entitled 2013-2014, is comprised of yearbook-esque portraits of her close friends, lovers, and fellow creatives. Molly now works as a teacher's assistant and a full time freelance photographer doing editorial work for publications such as Bloomberg Businessweek, Adult Magazine, Dis Magazine, and The Ledger.
