{Maybelline} Color Elixir

I hope you had a Happy Halloween!~ I can’t believe it’s already November and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Pretty soon, it’ll be Christmas and then the new year! Wow. This year just flew by! So little time and so many products to try and blog/share with you!

As you may know, I have an obsession with lip products. I’m always looking for the next best thing. I recently tried Maybelline’s Color Elixir and I’ll be honest… I didn’t have any expectations. I thought it might be sticky or have an unpleasant smell. Well I’m super happy to let you know that I really like these little lippies!

Imagine a lip gloss married a lip balm and had a cute little chubby baby. Yes, say hello to Maybelline’s Color Elixir! You get the shine and cushiony feel of a lip gloss with the benefits of a moisturizing balm.

Maybelline Color Elixir ($6.79 each) : A trio of concentrates delivers the color of a lipstick, the cushiony care of a balm, and the glass shine of a gloss. Our exclusive smoothing angora brush delivers a polished, even application and smoothing sensation to lips.

I got 3 colors: Raspberry Rhapsody, Signature Scarlet, and Fuchsia Flourish.

Raspberry Rhapsody is the color I’ve been reaching for the most. It’s a great color for everyday. I usually just apply one coat to give my lips a light wash of color. Signature Scarlet is an amazing red, and Fuchsia Flourish is a baby doll pink that definitely gets noticed.

Here’s the breakdown:

• Consistency: Amazing. Balmy and cushiony.
• Application: The flocked applicator has a pointed tip which allows precise and even application.
• Coverage: Applies somewhat sheer but easily buildable to a full coverage.
• Scent: Light creamy vanilla scent. Even if you’re not a vanilla fan, it’s light enough where you may not mind.
• Hydration: These provide ample hydration for dry lips and doesn’t get sticky with re-application like other glosses.
• Shine: Lots of shine without the sticky feel.
• Wear: The shine wears off first and the lips are left with a subtle stain. These wear for a 2-3 hours which is better than most lip glosses. These don’t separate or get patchy on the lips either. They have a smooth wear from start to finish.

The model above is wearing Signature Scarlet 020. The collection has 20 beautiful colors.

Overall Thoughts: I highly recommend Maybelline’s Color Elixirs. I was very pleased with the product and can’t wait to pick up some more!
