{Bliss} Micro Magic Microdermabrasion Treatment

Hello Lovelies!

Hope you’re having a great summer! I recently took a visit up to SF and it was so cool (literally)! The weather was in the 60s! Please check out my instagram feed (@prettygossip) to see pictures.

As you may know, I have dry skin. This means I tend to have dull skin. So, to combat the dullness, I exfoliate about twice a week to slough off the dead skin cells. A few months ago, I was at Sephora when I spotted Bliss’ new exfoliator: Micro Magic Microdermabrasion Treatment. Of course I scooped it up since I was almost out of my Bliss Pore Perfecting Facial Polish.

A powerful yet gentle cream-based exfoliating treatment that removes dead skin cell buildup with fine volcanic pumice and soothing, nourishing ingredients. This twice-a-week spa-powered microdermabrasion treatment boosts your cleansing routine by powerfully yet gently exfoliating dead cells and pore-polluting impurities that face washes may leave behind. Aloe and mushroom extract reduce inflammation and calm skin while peppermint extract refreshes and revitalizes. Skin is left clean, smooth, and healthy-looking. It is formulated Without: – Sulfates – Phthalates.

Available at Sephora and Nordstrom for $48.

My Observations:

  • Consistency: Whipped! The finely ground volcanic pumice provides a good exfoliation without being too harsh. The base of the treatment feels like a liquid mousse.
  • Scent: The fresh and minty scent provides a revitalizing exfoliation.
  • Feel: My skin feels cool and soothed after every use. In addition to the pumice which helps exfoliate off the dead skin cells, the treatment contains vitamin E and aloe which helps treat the appearance of dull skin. The treatment doesn’t foam up and rinses off very easily.
  • Use: After cleansing your face, gently massage a quarter sized dollop of the treatment for 1 minute. Be careful to avoid the eyes. Rinse well. Recommended use is 1-2 times a week.

Below is a ‘swatch’ of the treatment. The pumice in the treatment is very finely ground so there’s no large, harsh, or jagged particles to damage the skin.

Compared to Bliss’ Pore Perfecting Facial Polish, I actually prefer Bliss’ Micro Magic Microdermabrasion Treatment. The Treatment’s consistency is more liquid-y yet whipped at the same time. The Polish is more like a paste which I found harder to massage on the face.

While both provide a good exfoliation, I liked the Treatment better because it spreads easily on the face for a good massage and also rinses off very clean without much work. Also, I prefer the very finely grounded pumice in the Treatment over the more randomly sized particles in the Polish. Overall, both are great, but I currently am loving the Treatment.

Overall thoughts: After every use, my skin feels polished and extra smooth with the Bliss Micro Magic Microdermabrasion Treatment. It does a great job of exfoliating dead skin cells which can make skin look dull and patchy. If you don’t exfoliate 1-2 times a week, I highly recommend you start. It really helps your skin look bright and fresh.

Between the pumice and minty scent, getting the treatment into your eyes can be unpleasant. So if you have sensitive eyes, be extra careful to avoid the eye area.

All things considered, I highly recommend the product. 2 thumbs up. I hope this review has been helpful!
