LIVE: DUCK & WAFFLE

For my sister's birthday in January, I decided to treat her to lunch at the amazing Duck & Waffle restaurant which is situated on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower in East London.

Expectations were high for this meal and needless to say we were not disappointed. From start to finish the meal was impeccable, and if you look at the pictures below, the view was also quite amazing.

We booked for 3.30pm which was quite a late lunch; however, it meant that we got to see the city views in both day and night.

If you are visiting for the first time, I would recommend sharing a few dishes so you can enjoy more of the goodies that are on the menu. And of course the 'duck and waffle' is not to be missed.

We drank:

Dark & Stormy: dark rum, lime, homemade ginger beer – bottled and bagged Whiskey Sour: Monkey Shoulder Whiskey, lemon, sugar syrup, rosemary, truffle (warning the truffle smell is REALLY strong, I found it very off-putting) Roasted Cosmopolitan: Grey Goose Citron, triple sec, cranberry conserve and lime, roasted bone marrow seasoning

We ate:

BBQ-spiced crispy pig ears- surprisingly really good, if you don't think about it too much! Cherry tomato & goat cheese bread Bacon wrapped dates Artisanal meat & cheese plate Duck & waffle: crispy leg confit, fried duck egg, mustard maple syrup Warm chocolate brownie: peanut butter ice cream, crunchy caramel
Delicious!
I would suggest booking well in advance as booking closer to the time could lead to only obscure times being available!
Have you ever been to Duck & Waffle, or are you planning to go? Which restaurants are you desperate to visit at the moment?
