Karma Police from her sophomore release, 2013′s “Mockingbird”. In a Back to the Future moment, it’s her debut song and album “Banshee” that really lands her on the map.

At her album release party last year, leopard-print clad Morris shows us some raw, yummy textured energy that reminds me of Amy Winehouse-lite. The whispers that the day is ending and the dark is near are familiar in Winehouse and Johnny Cash‘s music; without the total blackness and desperation that they elicited and nobody can probably reproduce ever. Honestly, sometimes Amy’s albums were too sad for me to listen to. But, Morris’s debut, in its totality was perfect for a long drive. No need to med up after.
