WHY I WEAR BLACK

And why you can't go back. A true story of addiction starts now.
Black, over the years, have become a staple part of my wardrobe and signature aesthetic. The moment I started to incorporate more and more black into my sartorial decisions, the quickly it became an addiction for me. Just like comfort food, it's something that is easy for me to just gravitate towards without much thought or effort.

Some would say it's also a color that is synonymous with mystery, malice and maleficence. After all, in the words of Yohji Yamamoto, there may be some truth to that:

“Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and easy - but mysterious. But above all black says this: "I don’t bother you - don’t bother me".”

This extended hemline of this gorgeous Barbara I GONGINI piece exquisitely exemplify those principles; it is moody, romantic and futuristic all at once. I can't believe it's taken me this long to discover this Copenhagen gem - but a quick jaunt over to The Well - a fashion insider's paradise filled with edgy and androgynous designer labels - immediately put them on my radar.

But let's get back to the issue at hand and be real for a second: Black just goes with every situation. Whether you're dealing with hot or cold temperatures, black can be instantly slimming and forgiving. It's a color that is recognizably chic, in any form shape or size and texture. And it's practically stain proof in the sense that you won't see much of said stain. Unless you're about to pull a Monica Lewinsky (let's stay classy, people).

And this is why there is no turning back once you've had a taste of the "dark" side.
