The end of one adventure and the start of another

We did it! We got through our French adventure with a bang and have started our next one as Mr and Mrs.

I am writing this post as a married lady, a relaxed and content married lady who has left Montpellier for good and is currently sitting in a bit of a no man’s land in London. We’re not staying but we’re not sure exactly when we’re going (something border control was absolutely thrilled about…).

The last few weeks and the lead up to the wedding day were more stressful than I could have ever imagined. From the DIY details to the management of French caterers and decorators, I learnt a lot about the way the French do things and even more about myself and how I deal with the way the French do things. i.e. badly.

If you want to learn about another culture, and challenge yourself to the brink of your patience, plan a wedding in that country. The French are lovely people but wow they’re hard to do business with. Still, despite the headache getting there, and a bit more headache on the day itself, we made it. It was everything we could have hoped for and more and I ended up marrying the man of my dreams in an incredible location and dancing the night away while drinking French wine and Polish vodka.

While I’m gathering together my posts on France and the wedding I just thought I wanted to say hi and share the photo above from our amazing photographer Meredith Lord. After taking our engagement photos in New Zealand (below), she flew all the way over to France for our wedding. I can’t wait to share more with you and share the rest of the stories (good and bad).
