St Barthsing a New Year

It’s a new day, a new year and a fresh chapter in life.

This year I decided to perform my yearly cleansing on the charming island of Saint Barthélemy, St Barths, St Barts… whichever you choose to call it.

Surprisingly enough, this was my first time on the island and yes, it proved to live up to its status. That French feel of St Tropez is evident on the turquoise Caribbean island thanks to the language and the studded yachts, celebrities and table-dancing brunches. Oh la la… It was a great escape from my traditional NYC or Miami NYE festivities and the exact prescription I needed to boast the new year.

While one week during peak season can only suffice for so many experiences, here is my photodiary and list of top places to visit on your next St Barth’s getaway:

STAY:

1. A villa is the number one choice as views, comfort and privacy reign supreme on the island. Check in with Wimco Villas, VRBO and Homeaway for your top options.

2. Otherwise these 5 hotels will fill the void: Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France, Eden Rock, Hotel Christopher, Le Toiny and Le Sereno.

EAT:

1. Eden Rock – On The Rocks – Belle Views.

2. Nikki Beach – Brunch of course for the ultimate in table cloth stomping.

3. Le Ti Saint Barths – Imagine Neon Pirates dancing in skimpy uniforms surrounded by crushed red velvet & popping Jeroboams of Dom. Le Normal – plan for a 10 pm dinner reservation.

4. Maya – an island favorite.

5. Kiki et Mo – Best take away.

DRINK:

1. Le Yacht Club

2. Bagatelle

3. Nikki Beach

BEACH:

1. Gouverneur Beach – My personal favorite.

2. Saline Beach

3. Flamands (Isle de France) or trek down to Colombier Beach
