It's Happening Again

For those of you who've been reading for awhile, you know that I have been dealing with a stalker for basically the past two decades. It all came to a head last spring when The Scientist and I took him to court and had a protection/no contact order put in place.

He has since violated the terms of the order on more than one occasion by contacting me, as well as The Scientist, and the police have been contacted each time. Unfortunately, since these instances did not involve domestic violence or direct danger, there have been no consequences. It is infuriating, to say the least. I'm hoping something can be done when we file for an extension of the order this coming spring.

I also learned today that he has begun contacting someone else, another classmate of ours from high school. She's married, but he's been sending her creepy love poems, telling her they "look good together", and saying he loves her. I've told her to contact the police immediately and have offered to help in any way I can if things escalate further.

I'm so incredibly angry that this behavior has continued to occur unpunished. It's emotionally draining for both myself and The Scientist, and now that it's affecting someone else as well, I'm even more furious. I don't understand why I've had to go through this long process of attending court and working with the judge and law enforcement, only to have them be completely useless when this awful person breaks the law. It's beyond frustrating. I just want him out of my life.
