Monday Morning at 'The Ashtray' (beginner skate tricks)

I've been incorporating more skate content into the site just because that's what I've been into lately, but I'm curious, how many of you are interested in skateboarding? Have you tried it? Do you like to watch it? Would you ever want to learn?

My friend said her old boyfriend used to drag her to the beach to watch him surf, but she was only moderately interested and could never tell the difference between his black wetsuit and white board and some other guy's. But she said she liked to watch skate videos with her brother, even though she'd never tried it.

These tricks in the video are some of the beginner ones I've been learning. They're called:

Rock-to-fakie
Ollie
Fifty-fifty
I like the names. The first one, rock-to-fakie, means you roll up, put your front wheels over the edge, and then roll down backwards (skating with your tail forward in skateboarding is called "fakie"). The second trick, an ollie, is when you pop the board up with your back foot and cradle it in the air with your front foot so you can jump over or off of stuff. The last trick, a 50-50, is the most basic type of grind. A grind is when you slide along the edge of something with your trucks (the t-shaped metal part that mounts your wheels to your board) instead of your wheels. A fifty-fifty grind means your board is half on a ledge and half off.
