Celebrating 18 Months!!

Happy 18 months (and a few days) to our sweet girl! I cannot believe it has been over a year and a half since our lives were blessed with your precious little life!
You don't even look anything like you did when you were born! All that straight dark hair has turned to blonde curls!

Milestones: Seriously, just look at all those curls. And that smile! Oh, you melt my heart every single day with that face of yours!

You went to your first water park this month and went down the water slides at least 50 times. This mama was getting dizzy from all the sliding!

You are also learning to garden with me these days! You help me pull the weeds (and plants) and even know how to help yourself to a garden fresh snack, dirt and all!

Eating
You are doing so much better at eating your veggies these days! I am learning what your favorites are and how you like them cooked. I think you are a big fan of grilling out!

You have always been good about eating lots of fruit. Watermelon is a new summer favorite. I hope we can get some from our garden this year too!

Sleeping
You are still taking 2 naps a day and sleeping from about 8PM to 6-7 AM. I think you are about ready to transition to one nap a day because every now and then I hear you playing in your crib during your morning nap instead of sleeping. Eventually, you crash and I find you all snuggled up in the corner of your crib. There's really not much sweeter than a sleeping baby!
Here's a post from earlier this week on how we've taught you to sleep!
Teaching Your Toddler To Sleep

Teething:
You are still working on your eye teeth. You had a fever for one day this month that I think was teething related. I can't wait for those four to pop through so we can hopefully have a little break before your two-year-old molars! Maybe?

Talking:
Everyone says you are talking really well for your age! You have become our little echo as you repeat everything we say these days. The nice thing is, you are able to communicate when you want to eat, go outside, want more of something, are all done with something, get hurt, need a drink, are cold, are hot, want to watch Curious George, and more!

Some of the words you are saying now are:
stroller, outside, all done, please, thank you, I love you, more, eat, food, ball, blocks, book, night-night, bath, hot, cold, George, truck, car, beep beep, bus, doll, baby, walk, down, up, yes, no, alright, color, sit, ouch, music, eyes, ears, nose, belly, diaper, yucky, mama, dada. dog, fish, horse, moo, woof, oink, bird, tweet, duck, quack, water, grandma, grandpa, Buela, shirt, pants, socks, shoes, hi, bye, purple, yellow, pink, red, blue, green, circle, heart, paper

You can even say several of our friend's names now too:
Nicole, Matt, Declan, Grace, Asher, Emma, Dax, Mariah, Makenna, Lorinda, Richie, Abe, Jasmine, Kruz, Madison, Kaci,

You have even learned several words in Spanish. Here's my post about that with a video of you responding to questions in Spanish!

Potty Training:
You love to sit on your potty but don't really like to use it for what is is intended for. Often you will be sitting on your potty and then stand up and pee everywhere. Lots of fun! I'm hoping to start really potty training once all our summer trips have past. It's just too much to think about while traveling!

Memories:
Your uncle Abe graduated from High School this month. Abe is one of your favorites (shhh we won't tell)! It always takes you a while to warm up to him, but when you do, you never want him to leave! It makes my heart so happy to see the special bond the two of you have. I hope you always are close with him!

Abe graduated with honors as valedictorian and gave the most amazing, inspiring speech. We are so proud of our Abe!

One of your favorite things to do is play at the park. You always come up to me and ask "pak". It's hard to resist you when you ask so nicely, so we have had some fun times at the park. You even like to go down the slides all by yourself now. When did you become old enough for that?

My parents, (your grandpa and buela) came to spend a week with us. You loved all the extra hugs, kisses, and attention!

You are quite the social butterfly and love all of your friends with hugs, snuggles and kisses. Here you are with my best friend Nicole's baby boy. He's only 3 months but catching up to you in size girl!

One of your favorite things to do is read books. You have gotten good at reading them yourself but also love it when mom or dad read to you too!

Even though I'm not a fan of you watching TV, you still love to watch a Curious George episode every now and then, especially with your daddy. I don't know why you like it so much, but when we start the show, you get so excited that you almost fall of the couch! You love to snuggle and watch your favorite monkey!

You are officially your mother's daughter. You handle a shopping cart like a pro and don't shy away from rummaging through those clothes racks for a good find. That's my girl!

This month we made some of the best memories we've ever made on our family vacation to Georgia! You woke up every morning asking to go to the pool which was what you called the beach.

I still can't get over the two of you in this photo. It's my favorite. Like father, like daughter for sure. Just look at those cheesy smiles!

You loved the ocean, beach, and everything in between! I will share more photos soon!
My sweet girl,
A year and a half has gone by since you were born. I'm in denial that it's been that long, but then again, I love this age. I love your energy, your joy, your sense of humor, your love, and even your stubborn side. You have the strongest personality of any 18 month old I have ever met! Even strangers have commented on your bubbly and busy personality. You are a handful, but a handful of fun! You have started to say "I love you" all on your own and it absolutely melts my heart! You have changed my life so much the past year and a half. I couldn't love you more!
Love, mama
