So sleek

Sometimes, a no frills outfit calls my name. I think some days of the week I go above and beyond in wanting to dress up and be bright or funky, that other days I crave simplicity. That in itself can make a great outfit, and I got a lot of great feedback from coworkers and library patrons that they really liked my look this day (that’s always nice to hear )

The skirt and top are two very recent thrift finds, found on the same trip actually. I’m no stranger to black skirts, I have my fair share. But this one is a very different length than what I typically wear (I tend to go for A line type of skirts) – it added to the “sleekness” of this outfit I think. I really liked how the top and skirt went together in the end! Not sure I’d wear the skirt with these boots next time (I’m actually hoping to wear this sans tights in the upcoming warmer months!) I do think you should wear skirts with this length with a heel though. The line that cuts your calves in half makes your legs look short unless you add some extra height to your line with some heels!

Top: 3.1 Phillip Lim, thrifted. Skirt: Vince, thrifted. Tights: DKNY. Boots: Dolce Vita.
