The Thicke of It
Isn’t it totally crazy how much we are affected by pop culture? Just a few months ago, wearing pants like these were just another fashion trend. The moment Robin Thicke wears it on the VMAs, they become his pants! Now, every time I see it, he is the one I think of! I guess that’s where the whole responsibility of these pop stars come in. Whether they like it or not, people do look up to them, and a lot copy exactly what they do, and even who they are. It’s so crazy (and also kind of cool) how the situation of the times you are in is so easily described by street fashion. I once read that if you were to get frozen in time or teleported through a time machine and you end up centuries before or after you, the first thing you should do is analyze people’s clothes. What people wear is greatly affected by pop culture, social and economic situations that what you see on fashion blogs or even on the streets tells a lot about the times we are in. Think about it, what were people wearing during the war? After the war? During the renaissance? And now? I don’t know about you, but I find this totally cool and inspiring! What do you think?
