What to Wear: Warm Weather

Hey Ladies! While it’s getting incredibly hot and humid, I thought I’d share with you 10 super simple style suggestions on dressing for warmer weather. Let me know what you think and hope this list helps you in the mornings when you just can’t decide what to wear. Enjoy!

1. Add Ventilation

Warm weather means you need to show extra skin- not to get noticed, but to let it breathe! Opt for cute cut-outs or backless pieces to give you a little dose of wind where you need it.

2. How Low Can You Go

Thank the sartorial heavens for the age of the flat sandal. No more pain in the heels this season, with flats, sneakers, oxfords and sandals taking center stage. We all know sneakers are in, and that those coachella-esque boots would totally look fab with your outfit right now, but girl, your toes need some air! Opt for the very current mandals trend (or go for birks like me!) and pair them with almost anything! The more unusal the pairing, the more effortless it looks!

3. Meddle with Midi

For the conservative set, summer is hell. It means having to wear blazers, pants, maxis and all those layers under 30 degrees of heat and humidity. The perfect compromise goes to the midi skirt, providing just the right length and coverage with enough breeze to cool you down.

4. Rest in the Vest

Instead of donning on a blazer, try cutting the sleeves off and wearing a vest instead. I overuse all my vests because they give needed structure without suffocating me. Personally love long ones too! Just make sure to stay away from bulky suede ones- no that’s not what we’re going for.

5. Crop It Up

Get your fix of this trendy cropped top from all stores near you. Everyone is on it, and there’s no reason not to be. Problems with cash? Just chop off an existing top and it’s bound to make a statement!

6. Dress the Shirt

The easiest way to look chic and effortless on my books right now is to throw on a shirt dress and pair it with androgynous oxfords. No accessories needed!

7. Pastel Pairings

Pick your prettiest powders and mix them together for a soft summer look.

8. The Cold Shoulder

Yes mom, you wore this once before. But now it’s making a comeback and even when paired with the expected, they still look great! It’s such an easy to style piece and a stylish one on its own.

9. Plain Jane

Steer clear from prints and textures, and go back to basics with neutral pairings or fresh color blocks. The more minimalist, the more effortlessly on point!

10. Most Important

The only rule is- there ain’t no rules! These little tips are merely ideas that I personally like doing. But as always, I highly recommend that you just wear what you want and as long as you feel good in it, you will look your absolute best!

Happy Weekend!
