GlassesBringing summer style to the office can be tricky - especially when the weather calls for sleeveless tops and short hemlines. Thank goodness for versatile dresses. As part of
ModCloth's "Uniquely You" project, I styled the adorable
Coach Tour Dress for a day at the office. Here are my favorite tips for taking this outfit, plus your favorite summer styles, into the office:
- A sleeveless dress with a higher neckline is the perfect compromise during the heat. It maintains a level of professionalism and modesty, while giving you a little extra relief.
- Add an extra layer, like a light-weight blazer or cardigan, to throw on between meetings or times away from your desk. Plus, office air conditioning can be plain cruel.
- Make summer essentials work as accessories. Pick out stylish sunglasses, comfortable shoes and other warm weather must-haves that can work effortlessly into your daily outfits.
- Limit the heavy jewelery. Opt for ligh, easy pieces that you can remove as needed. A bulky statement necklace might look cute, but you'll be miserable before the lunch hour.
But it all points back to an adorable base, like a classic dress. I personally love ModCloth's dress selection for work-ready pieces. Shop some adorable
