Life Lately: Life as a Working Girl

Welcome to the daily grind. Is it horrible to say that I love it? Don't quote me on it in 40 years, but right now, it's incredibly exciting. The Portland area welcomed me with open arms. I've never been so ready for a new city. Even though I'm a little removed from the downtown rush, the "big city" vibe is something that I'm getting used to quickly. Here's life lately, according to good ol' Instagram:

The big news? My (second) big girl job. I started work last week at a global PR agency and it's an amazing change of pace. I worked part-time in an agency during college, but something about 40-hour work weeks make everything feel real. I already adore the company, the team and the clients. And the fact that it's perfectly acceptable for me to have a third cup of coffee in the middle of the afternoon.

A regularly work schedule has also freed up so much of my calendar. Free time is officially a thing again - crazy right? It means time for grabbing drinks with friends instead of group projects; calling my parents to enjoy an actual conversation instead of calling them to let them know I'm alive while running between classes; and dedicating an hour to Coffee and Cardigans without any anxiety instead of going two weeks without a post. That being said, there are so many exciting things coming to the blog soon - stay tuned!

But until then, how did you feel starting your first full-time job? Any advice for a newcomer? Blog: www.coffeeandcardigans.com Twitter: twitter.com/coffeeandcardis Facebook: facebook.com/coffeeandcardigansblog
