Although the collaboration between Alexander Wang and H&M has been announced a while ago I haven’t talked to you about the collaboration on this blog yet. Today that’s going to change.

You have to know I’m always a bit hesitant when it comes to these designer collaborations because, most of the time, the final end result isn’t my cup of tea. Over the last few years though, H&M has proven to make some great collections in collaboration with designers. Especially the collections by Maison Martin Margiela and Isabel Marant were beautifully made and wearable. And that last fact is something I’m not sure about concerning the Wang collaboration. I love how the collection is unique and Fashion Week worthy but personally I think the items are too much of a statement to wear every day. Of course there are a few exceptions, but still. I really think this 80% of this collection is for people who want to make a statement of dress up for a special party. Not something you would wear for a day at the office.
